District 1, are you ready to move forward?  As a BOI with deep roots in this great city and in District 1 specifically I’m not a stranger to this island and its concerns.  My name is Gerald Wilson.  As stated, I was born and raised in the heart of this amazing city, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy to be your next City Councilman for District 1.  Let me begin by expressing to you that I pledge to always put you the residents in District 1 first in all that I do.   

Reared in the Cedar Terrace projects and subsequently raised near the Old Central community, I know this district extremely well.  As a homeowner myself and property investor I am fully committed to making this district “Be all that it can be”.”

Together with my wife Yolanda, also a Galveston native and Ball High School alumna, we are deeply devoted to our hometown. As proud “BOIs” (Born on the Island), we are passionate about community service and volunteering at various non-profit organizations and churches. When not giving back, we cherish time with our sons and grandchildren.
